Abstract

The world is currently experiencing geopolitical uncertainty caused by the US and Iran conflict. This conflict poses a special problem, namely the closure of the Strait of Hormuz in Iran. This closure has an impact on the lack of crude oil supply to Indonesia and Malaysia. This condition has resulted in a global energy crisis. The global energy crisis increases the risk of inflation of goods and services. This study aims to examine the relationship between the conflict between the United States and Iran and inflation in Indonesia and Malaysia and highlight the importance of controlling Islamic perspectives to solve this problem. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach, with secondary data sources from the geopolitical risk index (GPRC), political economy uncertainty (WUI), world economic forums and the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The results of the study show that the conflict between the US and Iran has an effect on inflation in Indonesia and Malaysia. Inflation in Indonesia caused a 100% spike in plastic prices. Meanwhile, in Malaysia there has been an increase of 40%. The inflation stabilization strategy is carried out through controlling the Islamic perspective using Islamic monetary and fiscal instruments
