POST-PUBLICATION DISCUSSIONS AND CORRECTIONS POLICY
Jurnal Masharif Al-Syariah: Jurnal Ekonomi dan Perbankan Syariah
Jurnal Masharif Al-Syariah: Jurnal Ekonomi dan Perbankan Syariah recognizes that scientific communication does not end upon article publication. The journal is committed to maintaining the permanent integrity of the scholarly record and encouraging constructive academic debate, critical discourse, and the timely correction of errors through a transparent post-publication policy.
This policy follows the guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Council for Science (ICSU).
- Mechanisms for Post-Publication Discussion
Academic discourse and feedback regarding published articles are welcomed through the following formal channels:
- Letters to the Editor / Reader Comments
- Readers, scholars, and researchers can submit formal comments or "Letters to the Editor" discussing, clarifying, or critiquing specific methodologies, theoretical interpretations, or empirical findings in published articles.
- Submissions must be objective, respectful, evidence-based, and focused exclusively on the scholarly content of the article. Personal or non-academic attacks will not be considered.
- Submissions should be sent directly to the Editor-in-Chief via email within 6 months of the original article's publication.
- Author Right of Reply
- If a Letter to the Editor or critical comment is accepted for publication, the original authors will be invited to submit a Right of Reply / Rebuttal within 14 calendar days.
- Whenever possible, the comment/critique and the authors' response will be published together in the same journal issue and cross-linked to the original article via DOI.
- Amendments to Published Articles
To preserve the legal and scientific record, published articles are maintained as the "Version of Record." Changes after publication are limited to formal notices cross-linked to the original paper:
- Erratum (Publisher Error)
Issued to correct significant technical or editorial errors introduced during copyediting, typesetting, or production by the journal staff that affect the scientific accuracy or readability of the paper.
- Corrigendum (Author Error)
Issued to correct significant errors inadvertently made by the authors (e.g., mislabeled table columns, mathematical errors in formulas, missing author affiliations, or omitted grant acknowledgments) that do not invalidate the article's core findings.
- Expression of Concern
Issued by the Editor-in-Chief when serious concerns or allegations of research/publication misconduct arise regarding an article, and an investigation by the journal or an institutional body is ongoing but inconclusive.
- Article Retraction
Issued in cases of severe ethical violations, including proven plagiarism, data fabrication, major unresolvable errors that invalidate the study's conclusions, or duplicate publication. Retractions follow the official COPE Retraction Guidelines:
- The original PDF remains accessible, but a prominent "RETRACTED" watermark is applied to every page.
- A formal Notice of Retraction is published, detailing the reason for retraction and who initiated it.
- Review and Publication Process
- All post-publication submissions (comments, corrections, or retractions) are evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief and may undergo peer review by independent subject experts.
- Approved post-publication notices will be issued a unique DOI (Digital Object Identifier) and published in the next available issue.
- All corrections, comments, and retraction notices will be bidirectionally linked to the original article on the journal’s OJS platform to ensure complete transparency for future readers and indexing services.
