Jurnal Masharif Al-Syariah: Jurnal Ekonomi dan Perbankan Syariah

Jurnal Masharif Al-Syariah: Jurnal Ekonomi dan Perbankan Syariah is strongly committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity, originality, and publishing ethics. Plagiarism, in any form, constitutes a serious violation of publication ethics and will not be tolerated.

  1. Plagiarism Screening & Similarity Threshold

All submitted manuscripts undergo rigorous plagiarism screening prior to being sent for peer review.

  • Screening Software: The Editorial Board utilizes Turnitin / iThenticate software to verify the originality of all submissions.
  • Maximum Similarity Index: The overall similarity score of a submitted manuscript must not exceed 20%.
  • Single Source Limit: The similarity from any single source must not exceed 3%.
  • Exclusions: Quotes properly placed in quotation marks with accurate citations, standard references/bibliography, and common technical terms are excluded during the screening process if properly cited.

Manuscripts exceeding the 20% similarity threshold will be automatically returned to the author for revision or rejected outright depending on the severity and nature of the overlap.

The journal enforces strict policies against the following violations:

  • Direct Plagiarism: Verbatim copying of text from other published sources without quotation marks and proper attribution.
  • Substantial Paraphrasing Without Citation: Rewording or altering another author's ideas, concepts, or research findings without acknowledging the original source.
  • Self-Plagiarism / Duplicate Submission: Reusing substantial portions of the author’s own previously published work, data, or text without explicit attribution and justification.
  • Data Fabrication and Falsification: Inventing data, manipulating research findings, or selectively omitting empirical results to support a specific conclusion.
  1. Action and Sanctions in Cases of Plagiarism
  2. Pre-Publication Stage (Desk Evaluation & Peer Review)

  • Major/Intentional Plagiarism (> 30% or verbatim copying): The manuscript will be rejected immediately. The Editorial Board will issue a formal warning to the corresponding author.
  1. Post-Publication Stage

If plagiarism or ethical misconduct is proven in an article that has already been published:
