Conflict of Interest Policy

Justitia Jurnal Hukum is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and research integrity. To ensure transparency and maintain the objectivity of the peer-review and editorial processes, all parties involved authors, reviewers, and editors must declare any potential conflicts of interest.

A conflict of interest exists when professional judgment concerning the validity of research is influenced by a secondary interest, such as financial gain, personal relationships, academic competition, or institutional affiliations.

1. For Authors

Authors must transparently disclose any potential conflict of interest that could be perceived as influencing their research design, analysis, or interpretation of the data.

  • Authors must include a Conflict of Interest Statement in their manuscript prior to the reference section.

  • If no conflict exists, the authors must explicitly state: "The authors declare that there are no conflicts of interest regarding the publication of this manuscript."

  • Sources of research funding, grants, or institutional support must be properly acknowledged in the manuscript.

2. For Reviewers

Peer review must be conducted in an objective and unbiased manner.

  • Reviewers must decline the invitation to review a manuscript if they have a recent collaborative, institutional, financial, or personal relationship with any of the authors.

  • Reviewers must notify the Editor-in-Chief immediately if they discover a conflict of interest after accepting a review assignment, and must recuse themselves from the review process.

  • Reviewers must not use unpublished information obtained through the peer-review process for their personal advantage.

3. For Editors

Editors must make editorial decisions based solely on the manuscript's academic merit, relevance to the journal's scope, and originality, without regard to the authors' race, gender, institutional affiliation, or political beliefs.

  • Editors (including the Editor-in-Chief, Editorial Board members, and Guest Editors) must recuse themselves from handling or making decisions on manuscripts submitted by authors with whom they have a conflict of interest (e.g., colleagues from the same faculty, recent co-authors, or family members).

  • In such cases, the manuscript will be reassigned to another independent editor to ensure a fair and blinded evaluation process.
