Publication Ethics
The Journal of Sociolegal and Islamic Law is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and taking all possible action against any form of breach of publication ethics. All authors submitting their work to The Journal of Sociolegal and Islamic Law declare that the submitted work is their original contribution and not completely copied or plagiarised from other works. All articles that do not meet these standards will be removed from publication at any time, even after publication, in accordance with the applicable code of conduct. The journal also uses plagiarism detection software to screen submitted articles. Here are some of the terms of publication ethics in this journal;
- Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that the work submitted is their original work. Any quotation or use of other people's work must be properly stated. Plagiarism in any form, including self-plagiarism, is strictly prohibited.
- Author Accountability: Authors are fully responsible for the content of the submitted article, including the data, facts, and arguments presented. All authors listed in the article must have contributed significantly to the work and approved the final version for publication.
- Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could affect the results of the research or interpretation of the data. All sources of funding supporting the research must be disclosed.
- Reporting Standards: Articles should be presented with accuracy and honesty. Research data must be presented clearly and not manipulated. Authors should follow the writing guidelines and format set by the journal.
- Review Process: Authors must respect the anonymous review process and not influence the reviewers to make a particular judgement. Articles submitted for publication must adhere to ethical standards and should not be submitted to more than one journal at the same time.
- Open Access and Copyright: Authors must comply with the journal's policies regarding open access and copyright. Once the article is published, authors agree that the copyright of the article resides with the journal under a specific licence (e.g., Creative Commons).
- Error Reporting: If authors discover errors or inaccuracies in the published article, they should inform the journal editor immediately and co-operate to withdraw or correct the article.
- Fairness and Non-Discrimination: Authors should ensure that their research and writing are conducted with fairness and non-discrimination in mind, both in the subject of the research and in the representation in the article.
- Participant Involvement and Consent: In research involving human subjects, authors should ensure that participants have given their informed consent, and that their right to privacy is protected.
- Responsibilities of Editors and Reviewers: Editors and reviewers should maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts, provide fair and objective reviews, and maintain the integrity and quality of the publication. They should avoid conflicts of interest in the process of assessing articles.
