Focus and Scope

The aim of Improvement: Jurnal Manajemen dan Bisnis is to disseminate the results of applied research in the fields of management and business. Improvement: Jurnal Manajemen dan Bisnis is focused on becoming a journal that publishes scientific articles from applied research conducted by academics, practitioners, and professional associations.

Improvement: Jurnal Manajemen dan Bisnis invites manuscripts in the following sub-areas

• Business Management,

• Marketing Management,

• Financial Management,

• Human Resource Management,

• Strategic Management,

• Operations Management

 

Peer Review Process

Improvement: Jurnal Manajemen dan Bisnis applies a double-blind peer review process. The identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the review process to promote objective and impartial evaluation.

All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening to assess their relevance to the journal’s scope, compliance with the author guidelines, originality, academic quality, and ethical standards. Manuscripts are also checked for plagiarism and textual similarity using Turnitin. The similarity score should not exceed 20%. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected at the editorial screening stage.

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area.

The reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on their originality and contribution to knowledge, theoretical foundation, methodological rigor, data analysis, discussion of findings, quality and relevance of references, clarity of presentation, and overall academic significance.

Based on the reviewers’ evaluations, the editor makes a decision regarding the manuscript. The possible decisions are Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject. When revisions are required, authors are expected to respond to the reviewers’ comments and revise the manuscript accordingly. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation.

The final decision to accept or reject a manuscript rests with the Editor. The Editor may seek additional review when necessary to ensure the quality and integrity of the editorial decision.

All manuscripts and review reports are treated as confidential. Reviewers are expected to provide objective and constructive evaluations, maintain confidentiality, and disclose any potential conflicts of interest. Editorial decisions are made independently and are based on academic and ethical considerations.

The peer review process generally takes approximately 4–8 weeks, although the actual duration may vary depending on reviewer availability, manuscript complexity, and the number of revision rounds required.

Open Access Policy

The journal provides open access to its published articles, making research freely available to the public. This policy aims to broaden access to scholarly knowledge, facilitate the dissemination of research findings, and support the global exchange of knowledge.

History of Journal

Improvement: Jurnal Manajemen dan Bisnis is a peer-reviewed journal that has been published periodically since 2021 in the fields of management and business. The journal is managed by the Management Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surabaya, and published by UMPublishing, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surabaya.

The journal publishes scholarly articles and research papers that contribute to the advancement of knowledge and represent the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education, particularly in education, research, and community engagement.

Improvement: Jurnal Manajemen dan Bisnis aims to actively contribute to the advancement and dissemination of high-quality scholarly knowledge in management and business. The journal provides a platform for researchers, academics, practitioners, and other scholars to share theoretical and empirical insights addressing contemporary management and business issues in an increasingly globalized environment.
