MUST: Journal of Mathematics Education, Science and Technology encourages academic discussion after publication as part of its commitment to scientific integrity, transparency, and the advancement of knowledge. Readers, researchers, and authors are welcome to submit constructive comments, critical assessments, questions, or concerns regarding published articles in mathematics education, mathematics, science, technology, and related fields.
1. Submission of Comments and Discussions
Readers may submit comments or scholarly critiques concerning the methodology, data analysis, mathematical reasoning, interpretation of results, conclusions, or scientific contributions of published articles. Submissions must clearly identify the article being discussed and provide relevant evidence and references where appropriate.
Comments should be submitted to the editorial team through the journal's official contact channels.
2. Editorial Evaluation
All submissions are evaluated by the editorial team for relevance, academic merit, factual accuracy, and compliance with publication ethics. The editor may consult independent experts when necessary. Comments that are irrelevant, unsupported by evidence, defamatory, or inconsistent with scholarly standards may be rejected.
3. Authors' Right to Reply
Authors whose articles are discussed will be given a reasonable opportunity to respond to substantive comments or criticisms. Responses must be objective, professional, and supported by appropriate evidence. Where suitable, the comments and responses may be considered for publication following editorial evaluation.
4. Corrections and Retractions
If post-publication discussions reveal potential errors, unreliable findings, or research misconduct, the editorial team will investigate the concerns based on available evidence. Depending on the outcome, MUST may issue a correction, an expression of concern, or a retraction in accordance with its Correction and Retraction Policy.
Post-publication criticism does not automatically result in a correction or retraction. All editorial actions must be justified by the evidence and handled fairly.
5. Ethical Standards and Transparency
All participants must communicate respectfully, avoid personal attacks and unsupported allegations, disclose relevant conflicts of interest, and respect confidentiality where applicable.
MUST is committed to maintaining a transparent and reliable scholarly record by documenting relevant editorial decisions and linking published comments, responses, corrections, or retraction notices to the original article whenever appropriate. This policy follows established principles of responsible scholarly publishing, including relevant guidance from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
