ABSTRACT
The development of financial technology has opened up various new opportunities, including in buying and selling gold digitally through application platforms such as DANA. The eMas feature in the DANA application allows users to make non-cash gold buying and selling transactions without having to directly receive physical gold. This article aims to analyze the suitability of non-cash gold buying and selling practices through the eMAS feature in the DANA application with Islamic law, as well as review the minimum gold gram policy applied. Based on Islamic law, the sale and purchase of gold as a ribawi item has special provisions, especially regarding the handover (qabd) and the price that must be transparent. This study found that the non-cash mechanism requires adjustments to fulfill the qabd hukmi requirements and avoid elements of gharar and usury. In addition, the minimum grammage policy that is smaller than the classical provisions requires further analysis regarding its impact on justice in Islamic transactions.
