Abstract
This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using digital platforms for the collection of zakat and infaq from a sharia and economic perspective. With the increasing adoption of financial technology (fintech), various digital platforms are now utilized as tools to facilitate sharia-compliant financial transactions, including zakat and infaq. The research employs a qualitative approach through literature review, interviews with sharia and economic experts, and secondary data analysis from leading zakat collection platforms. The findings indicate that, from a sharia perspective, digital platforms generally adhere to key sharia principles, such as transparency, accountability, and fairness in fund distribution. However, challenges remain in ensuring user data security and the accurate allocation of funds to the intended recipients. From an economic perspective, digital platforms have proven to enhance efficiency in zakat and infaq collection, expand donor reach, and reduce operational costs for zakat management organizations (LAZ). The use of technology also increases community participation in regular zakat and infaq payments. In conclusion, the study emphasizes that digital platforms have significant potential to optimize zakat and infaq collection. However, further regulation and public education are needed to ensure the technology is used more effectively, securely, and in accordance with sharia principles.
