PEMANFAATAN MEDIA PERMAINAN SEBAGAI UPAYA MENINGKATAN METAKOGNITIF ANAK USIA DINI

Abstrak
Metakognitif mempunyai peran yang sangat penting bagi seseorang dalam mengembangkan kesadaran berpikir. Vennman, dkk (2006) menyatakan bahwa antara usia 3 dan 5 tahun metamemori dan pengetahuan metakognitif mulai berkembang dan berlangsung seiring perkembangan usia, sedangkan keterampilan metakognitif berkembang antara 8 dan 10 tahun dan berkembang pada saat-saat dibutuhkan. Istomina (1982) mempelajari cara-cara anak-anak yang dilakukan oleh anak dalam berbagai usia, Anak-anak berusia 4 tahun lebih tertarik dengan sesuatu yang harus di lakukan sesuai dengan yang mereka ingat, anak-anak berusia 5 dan 6 tahun mencoba menghafal apa yang telah mereka katakan dengan meminta agar hal itu diulang, anak-anak berusia 7 tahun mencoba membuat beberapa koneksi logis antara item dalam daftar pikiran mereka. Guru berperan besar dalam melatih metakoginif dan membantu anak mengembangkan kesadaran metakognitif, serta mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang meningkatkan perkembangan metakognitif. Permasalahannya pembelajaran selama ini belum melatih anak memiliki kemampuan berpikir, memberdayakan anak berpikir kreatif dan termotivasi materi yang dipelajari. Dalam melatih kemampuan metakoginitiff anak media permaianan dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Media yang digunakan dengan media permainan mencampur warna, balok, bombix, dan pasir.
