THE ROLE OF SOCIAL MEDIA ON TEENAGERS' BEHAVIOR IN ACCESSING PORNOGRAPHIC CONTENT

Objective: This study aims to analyze the role of social media in shaping teenage behavior related to accessing pornography content.
Methods: This study utilizes a cross-sectional analytical research approach with a sample size of 76 samples. The sampling method used is probability proportional to size. The data source in this research is primary data obtained directly from teenagers through questionnaire completion.
Results: Teenagers who easily access information media and have consumed pornography amount to 48.7%, whereas teenagers who have difficulty accessing information media and have consumed pornography amount to 83.8%, with p=0.001.
Conclusion: There is a relationship between access to information media and pornography consumption. Open communication between parents and children about sexuality topics including pornography is crucial to reduce the negative effects of pornography exposure on teenagers.
