Pengaruh Pelatihan Bantuan Hidup Dasar (BHD) Dan Triage Terhadap Pengetahuan Kesiapsiagaan Kader Kesehatan Remaja (KKR) Di SMP Muhammadiyah 36 Jakarta

Abstract

Background: Indonesia is a country with a high level of disaster vulnerability, so community preparedness—including in school settings—needs to be continuously improved. Adolescent Health Cadres (KKR) play a crucial role in providing first aid during emergencies before healthcare workers arrive. However, adolescents’ knowledge and skills regarding Basic Life Support (BLS) and triage remain limited. This study aims to analyze the effect of BLS and triage training on the disaster preparedness knowledge of KKR members at SMP Muhammadiyah 36 in Jakarta. Research Method: This study used a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach without a control group. The study sample consisted of 23 KKR members selected using total sampling according to inclusion criteria. The intervention was delivered through training that included lectures, demonstrations, simulations, hands-on practice, and discussions. Data were collected using a knowledge questionnaire, and data analysis was performed using a paired-sample t-test. The results showed an increase in the average knowledge score from 61.09 before training to 97.61 after training. Statistical analysis revealed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores (t = -37.825; p = 0.000), thus accepting the alternative hypothesis. These findings indicate that BHD and triage training effectively improve KKR members’ emergency preparedness knowledge. Conclusion: It is concluded that Basic Life Support (BLS) and triage training can be incorporated as a routine capacity-building program within the School Health Unit (UKS) as an effort to improve students’ preparedness to face emergency situations and to support the development of Disaster-Schools
