Objective: This study aims to describe the effectiveness of combining music therapy and spousal support education in reducing baby blues symptoms in primiparous mothers after cesarean section.
Methods: This study used a qualitative design with a descriptive case study approach on two respondents who were primiparous mothers in Rejoyoso Village, Malang Regency. The research instrument used the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS). The intervention was carried out for three consecutive days with a duration of 30 minutes of music therapy and education on the role of the husband.
Results: The EPDS scores of both respondents showed a significant decrease, namely Client 1 (12 to 6) and Client 2 (11 to 7). Respondents reported feeling calmer, more relaxed, and more confident in caring for their babies after receiving music therapy and active support from their husbands.
Conclusion: The combination of music therapy and spousal support education is effective in reducing baby blues symptoms and accelerating the adaptation to the new role in primiparous mothers.
