Abstract

The rapid development of social media has brought significant changes to the behavioral patterns and social interactions of Muslim adolescents, as indicated by the increasing prevalence of hoaxes, hate speech, privacy violations, and impulsive behavior in digital spaces. This condition reflects serious challenges in the internalization of moral and ethical values among the younger generation. This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic values as a way of life in shaping the digital ethics of Muslim adolescents in the era of social media, as well as to examine the contributions of the Islamic worldview and Islamic education in this process.

This study employs a library research method by analyzing various relevant scholarly sources, including academic journals, books, and previous studies related to digital ethics, Islamic education, and adolescent character formation. The findings indicate that Islamic values as a way of life function as a comprehensive moral framework that guides adolescents in using social media wisely, responsibly, and ethically. The Islamic worldview serves as a value filter in navigating the influences of global digital culture, while Islamic education contributes significantly through value internalization, habituation, and role modeling. Therefore, the implementation of Islamic values as a way of life constitutes a relevant and effective conceptual strategy for fostering digital ethics among Muslim adolescents.
