Al-Hikmah: Journal of Religions Studies is published two times a year, peer-reviewed, and specializes in research and issues related to religious studies. The aim is to provide readers with a better understanding of religious studies and present developments through the publication of articles and research reports.
The journal invites scholars and experts working in all disciplines of religious studies. Articles should be original, research-based, unpublished, and not under review for possible publication in other journals. All submitted papers are subject to review by the editors, editorial board, and blind reviewers. Submissions that violate our guidelines on formatting or length will be rejected without review.
The article has not been published in other journals or other platforms.
The article should be written in English with a formal style and structure.
The article should be prepared in a Microsoft Word document, using 1.5 line spacing, Garamond 12 pt font, and between 5,500 to 7,000 words.
The article is the original work of the author(s).
The author(s) are responsible for thoroughly checking the accuracy of citations, grammar, tables, and figures before submission.
The author(s) are responsible for revising their article after receiving a review from the editorial boards.
The author(s) should register at the e-journal of Al-Hikmah: Journal of Religions Studies before submitting their paper and fill out the submission form completely.
The article must be submitted online.
All articles will be reviewed by the Editorial Board.
File Format
The article must be submitted in Microsoft Word format. Other formats such as LaTeX or PDF are not accepted.
Article Length
The length of the article should be 10–16 pages, including references, or 5,500–8,000 words.

Abstract
The abstract should contain the main objectives of the study, methods used, research findings, and conclusions. The abstract must be written in both English and Bahasa Indonesia using Garamond 10 pt, single line spacing. Left indent 2.5 cm, right indent 0 cm. Abstract length: 150–250 words. Keywords (3–5 words) should describe the research domain and main concepts.
Introduction
Should contain:
Presentation of the main research topic.
Latest related literature (last 10 years).
Gaps, inconsistencies, or controversies in previous research.
Research problem, purpose, context, and analysis unit.
Overview of the article structure.
Method
Detail the research steps to demonstrate validity and reliability. Explain research design, instruments, population/sample, data collection, and analysis techniques. For qualitative research, describe researcher presence, subjects, informants, location, and duration.
Result
Present findings clearly, using tables or figures when needed, with captions and explanations. Do not duplicate data in both text and tables. Statistical processes should not be detailed—report only the analysis results.
Discussion
Interpret findings, answer research questions, compare with previous studies, and relate to existing theories. Where relevant, cite reputable journals (Scopus, Sinta).
Conclusion
Summarize the main findings as they relate to the research problem and objectives. May include future research directions or implications.
Acknowledgment
Optional — used to express gratitude to individuals or institutions that supported the research.
References
Use Mendeley with Chicago Manual Style, Full Note Edition 17 (footnote citation). Include author name, title, place of publication, publisher, and year.
