The library at SD Negeri Candirejo 02 still applies a manual system for recording borrowings, returns, and book collection management. This condition creates several problems such as delays in data retrieval, recording errors, and inefficiency in library services. This study aims to implement a web-based library application to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of data management at SD Negeri Candirejo 02. The research method employed the waterfall model, which consists of system requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The application was developed using PHP programming language with the CodeIgniter 4 framework and MySQL as the database, and it was equipped with a QR code scanning feature. The implementation results show that the application, named PerpusKu, can assist library staff in managing borrowing, returning, member data, book categories, book racks, and fine reports more quickly and accurately. Testing using black-box methods indicated that all features functioned as expected. Using a participatory qualitative approach, the research was conducted at UPT SD Negeri 195 Gresik during the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. Subjects were selected purposively, involving regional language teachers and fifth-grade students. Data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews (July 26, 2025), and photo documentation. The findings indicate that actively singing tembang macapat improves students' mastery of chromo alus and chromo inggil vocabulary while instilling character values such as simplicity, responsibility, and cultural pride. Teachers contextualized song meanings to make them more relatable. Some students sang the songs at home and taught them to siblings, indicating cultural transfer beyond school. Despite limited learning media, teachers applied contextual strategies. Overall, this learning approach proved effective, enjoyable, and meaningful for elementary students.
Nadia Ayu Ekawati Heru Subrata Copyright (c) 2025 Nadia Ayu Ekawati, Heru Subrata https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-10-11 2025-10-11 9 2 10.30651/else.v9i2.27908 The Influence of The Use of Visual and Flashcard Media in Language Learning on Increasing Student Achievement https://journal.um-surabaya.ac.id/pgsd/article/view/23214
Abstract

This research originated from the problem of declining learning achievement of students of SD Negeri Sukun 3 Malang City One of the indicators of declining student learning achievement is the results of the odd 2023/2024 Mid-Semester Exam (UTS) which was carried out in September 2023. Of the 25 students who took part in UTS, KKM scores were obtained that did not meet the learning completeness. In the results of the 2023/2024 odd semester UTS held in September 2021, data was obtained that the average score of Grade VI students is still below the KKM score in English subjects. This study aims to determine the influence of flashcards and visual media in English learning on improving student achievement at SD Negeri Sukun 3, Malang City. The method used to analyze the data used logit regression with 25 active student respondents. Indicators to determine student learning achievement use a Likert scale of 1-4. The study Control class and experimental class results showed that the value of count = 3.74 and table = 1.685 where tcal> ttable so that H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. This means that it can be concluded that the use of visual media can be used as a learning medium that can improve student achievement compared to flashcard media. This is because visual media has a high appeal and is colorful so it can support the learning process. Visual media makes the learning process It is easy to implement because it can increase the child's focus on the material presented.

Keywords: flashcard, Visual Learning Media, increased student achievement
Marry Damayanti Subanji Wayan Dasna Copyright (c) 2025 Marry Damayanti https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-10-01 2025-10-01 9 2 10.30651/else.v9i2.23214 Implementation of Deep Learning in Elementary School Improving the Effectiveness and Quality of IPAS Learning https://journal.um-surabaya.ac.id/pgsd/article/view/26271
This study explores the implementation of a deep learning approach by IPAS subjects at SD Negeri Sumbertaman 2. It uses a qualitative method with a case study approach involving participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The results show the school’s success in adapting the three main aspects of deep learning according to the local context. The meaningful learning approach is realized through learning that is linked to real problems in the students’ environment, while mindful learning is implemented with structured metacognitive strategies. In addition, joyful learning is implemented by integrating local cultural elements into learning. To overcome the limitations of digital infrastructure, the school develops a hybrid learning model and improves teachers’ capacity through continuous professional development programs. This implementation positively impacts students’ critical thinking skills, strengthening character and social skills according to the “6C” concept and increasing learning motivation. This learning model exemplifies how schools in urban border areas can make meaningful educational transformations by integrating cognitive, social-emotional, and cultural aspects in IPAS learning.
Hullatul Luthfiyah Toto Nusantara Siti Faizah Shirly Rizki Kusumaningrum Mardhatillah Copyright (c) 2025 Hullatul Luthfiyah Hella, Toto Nusantara, Siti Faizah, Shirly Rizki Kusumaningrum, Mardhatillah https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-09-20 2025-09-20 9 2 10.30651/else.v9i2.26271 The Effectiveness of Word Card Media in Improving Early Reading Skills of Second Grade Elementary School Students https://journal.um-surabaya.ac.id/pgsd/article/view/25970
Reading is a fundamental part of language proficiency, especially in Indonesian, which is the national language. Therefore, mastering early reading skills is a prerequisite for mastering other language skills. Finding out whether the use of word card media has an impact on students' reading skills is the purpose of this study. This study used a quasi-experimental research design. Reading assessment was used to collect data. The reliability of the instrument was tested with the split-half method, while its validity was based on content validity. It is recommended that teachers use card media to teach beginning reading in grade two elementary school because the use of word card media can affect students' beginning reading ability. The results showed that the significance value (2-tailed) was 0.05 in accordance with the two means difference test with t-test using SPSS software with a significance level of 0.05. Since the sig value is 0.05, H0 is rejected for the test of the average difference in the final score of students' beginning reading ability, especially between two parties. This indicates that there is a difference between students who use word card media and those who do not use word card media.

Keywords: Students' Reading Ability, Word Card Media

Tika Saputri Ratnasari Copyright (c) 2025 Tika Saputri, Ratnasari https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-10-27 2025-10-27 9 2 10.30651/else.v9i2.25970 Transformation of Character Education through The Strengthening Project of The Pancasila Student Profile in Elementary Schools https://journal.um-surabaya.ac.id/pgsd/article/view/25864
This study has the urgency to examine how the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) at SDN Madugondo serves as a strategic effort to shape students’ character in line with the direction of the Merdeka Curriculum policy. The research employed a descriptive method with a qualitative approach through observation, semi-structured in-depth interviews, and documentation techniques. The researcher acted as the key instrument in observation, while informants were purposively selected, consisting of the Principal, Homeroom Teachers, Project Coordinator Teacher, and four students from grades 1, 3, and 4. Data analysis was conducted using Miles and Huberman’s model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings reveal that during the planning stage, teachers prepared project dimensions and themes relevant to sustainable lifestyles; in the implementation stage, coordination was carried out with the principal and other teachers, dissemination was provided to parents and students, and evaluation instruments were developed; whereas in the evaluation stage, teachers observed the learning process, used assessment rubrics, and evaluated the achievement of the Pancasila Student Profile dimensions. The practical implementation of this study demonstrates that P5 is not merely a formal program, but can also be sustainably integrated into the school culture through collaboration among teachers, parents, and students. Scientifically, the results of this study enrich the discourse on implementation strategies of the Merdeka Curriculum, particularly at the elementary school level.

Keywords: Implementation; Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project; Elementary School
Hartina E.I Pusta Siligar Copyright (c) 2025 E.I Pusta Siligar, Hartina https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-10-11 2025-10-11 9 2 10.30651/else.v9i2.25864 School Information System Innovation Using CodeIgniter 3 to Optimize Services in Elementary Schools https://journal.um-surabaya.ac.id/pgsd/article/view/24245
Elementary schools as educational institutions require an information system that is fast, transparent, and easily accessible to the public. However, many schools still do not have a website-based information system, including SD Negeri X, which until now has relied on manual methods for delivering information. This condition creates limitations in disseminating information related to school profiles, teacher data, learning activities, and academic achievements. This study was conducted to address this need by developing a school information system based on a website using the CodeIgniter 3 framework and the Waterfall development method. The system was built with the PHP programming language and MySQL database, and tested using Black-Box Testing to ensure that all features functioned according to user requirements. The results showed that the developed application facilitates schools in providing information to the community, expands the school’s promotion reach, and improves the efficiency of data management, which can be accessed anytime via digital devices.

Keywords: School Information System; Website; CodeIgniter 3; Waterfall; Black-Box Testing; Education Digitalization
Ahmad Nurul Aripin Sri Mujiyono Copyright (c) 2025 Ahmad Nurul Aripin, Sri Mujiyono https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-09-20 2025-09-20 9 2 10.30651/else.v9i2.24245 The Influence of Project-Based Learning (P5 Activity) on Improving Students' Collaboration Learning Skills https://journal.um-surabaya.ac.id/pgsd/article/view/23483
Effective teaching methods are essential to facilitate students' cognitive, social, and emotional development. One of the approaches proposed in the Merdeka Curriculum is Project Based Learning (P5), which invites students to be directly involved in the learning process through real projects. The research method used is a causal quantitative method with a population of 5th grade students at SDN Karangesuki 4 with a sample size of 54 students. The data analysis technique uses a t-test with a significance level of 5%. The T-test used is a separated variant or polled variant with a calculation tool in the form of SPSS. Based on the results of the research and discussion, several conclusions can be put forward. The conclusions that will be put forward in this research are as follows. 1) There is an increase in collaboration skills between students who learn using project-based learning and students who learn using LKPD (Learner Worksheets) on the theme "Use of Used Goods" class 5 at SDN 4 Karangbesuki, Malang City. It can be seen that the post-test average for the experimental group using project-based learning was 19.058, while the post-test average for the control group was 14.117. Based on the average increase in students' collaborative learning skills, it can be concluded that the increase in students' collaborative learning skills is higher in children who use project-based learning. 2) The results of the analysis of student responses on collaborative learning skills showed that the final percentage of student responses was 81.18% which was classified as very positive.

Keywords: Project Based Learning (P5); Student Learning Collaboration Skills.
Budi Lestari Purwanto Ade Eka Anggraini Copyright (c) 2025 Budi Lestari https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-10-01 2025-10-01 9 2 10.30651/else.v9i2.23483 Integrated Learning Using the Webbed Model Through Educational Games to Improve Elementary School Students' Understanding of Numbers and Vocabulary https://journal.um-surabaya.ac.id/pgsd/article/view/26695
Early abilities in recognizing numbers and understanding vocabulary serve as a fundamental foundation in developing literacy and numeracy skills among first-grade elementary students. Unfortunately, the conventional subject-separated approach to learning often leads to a lack of student interest and difficulty in grasping concepts holistically. This study aims to explore the use of the Webbed-type integrated learning model based on educational games as a fun and developmentally appropriate method to improve students' understanding of numbers 1–10 and vocabulary mastery. Learning activities were conducted using media such as number snakes and ladders, number hopping, and number cards, under the theme “Let’s Play While Learning Numbers.” The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, documentation, and learning outcome tests. The study involved 32 first-grade students of SDN Klampok II, Tongas District, Probolinggo Regency. The results showed an increase in learning interest, active participation, and comprehensive understanding of numbers and vocabulary. These findings support the application of the Webbed model based on educational games as an effective and enjoyable alternative approach for early-grade elementary education.
Dina Marianah Sumarmi Sri Rahayuningsih Ade Eka Anggraini Siti Faizah Copyright (c) 2025 Dina Marianah, Sumarmi, Sri Rahayuningsih, Ade Eka Anggraini, Siti Faizah https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-10-01 2025-10-01 9 2 10.30651/else.v9i2.26695 Identifying and Understanding Elementary Students’ Difficulties in Learning Mathematics https://journal.um-surabaya.ac.id/pgsd/article/view/26084
Students with math learning difficulties often make mistakes when learning to count and when trying to solve story problems. Using a descriptive qualitative method, this study involved 35 teachers in an inclusive primary school in East Jakarta, with data collected through a questionnaire that included aspects of challenges, positive influences of multicultural education, and inclusive strategies. The results of the study show that teachers face several key challenges, such as limited resources, understanding, and communication. However, multicultural education has been shown to improve students' empathy, tolerance, and social skills. Effective inclusive strategies include curriculum adaptation, teacher training, and collaboration with parents. Teachers also reported the positive impact of inclusive education on student attitudes and learning outcomes, including increased self-confidence, social responsibility, and collaboration skills. These results underscore the importance of adequate resource support and training programs for teachers to strengthen the effectiveness of inclusive education in primary schools. In addition, anti-stigma and diversity education programs can help reduce discrimination and increase student and public understanding of the importance of inclusion. Closer collaboration between schools and parents is also needed to create ongoing support for students with special needs.
Risky Dwiprabowo Arifin Maksum Asep Supena Nina Nurhasanah Totok Bintoro Evi Faujiah Copyright (c) 2025 risky dwiprabowo https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-09-07 2025-09-07 9 2 10.30651/else.v9i2.24458
