KATA 'SĀFĀR' DALAM PERSPEKTIF SUFI: KAJIAN TERHADAP METAFORA KONSEPTUAL GEORGE LAKOFF

Abstrak

Artikel ini menggali secara mendalam esensi kata 'Sāfār' dalam perspektif Sufi, dengan memanfaatkan kerangka konseptual metafora yang dikembangkan oleh George Lakoff. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap makna filosofis dan spiritual yang terkandung dalam kata 'Sāfār' dalam konteks tradisi sufi, dan bagaimana penggunaan metafora konseptual dapat memperdalam pemahaman kita terhadap perjalanan mistik sufi. Dalam konsep berpikir "The Path Traversed-If Possible/Not Possible" yang diperkenalkan oleh Lakoff, artikel ini mengeksplorasi dinamika antara Domain Sumber dan Domain Target dalam metafora 'Sāfār'. Penelitian ini mengaplikasikan metode metafora konseptual George Lakoff untuk mengartikan arti literal kata 'sāfār' dalam kerangka spiritual sufi menjadi arti yang bersifat metaforis. Untuk memahami fenomena ini, penelitian dilakukan melalui tiga tahap proses: Pertama, pengumpulan data, dalam tahap ini, peneliti mengumpulkan kata-kata literal 'sāfār' dari teks Alquran dan manuskrip sufi. Kedua, analisis data, dalam tahap ini, peneliti mengamati, menganalisis, dan memahami arti literal kata 'sāfār' dalam teks Alquran, serta menghubungkannya dengan makna yang bersifat metaforis. Ketiga, penyimpulan data, di mana peneliti memahami dan menginterpretasikan makna dari domain sumber ke domain target metafora dari kata 'sāfār' dalam konteks perjalanan spiritual sufi. Temuan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman metaforis terhadap istilah 'Sāfār' dapat memberikan wawasan baru dan pandangan yang luas terhadap pengalaman spiritual, filosofis dan linguistik kognitif. Hal in dikarenakan penelitian ini menyoroti kompleksitas dinamika antara domain sumber dan domain target dalam proses interpretasi metaforis.
