EFEKTIFITAS KOMPRES LIDAH BUAYA TERHADAP PENURUNAN SUHU TUBUH PADA ANAK YANG MENGALAMI DEMAM DIUPT PUSKESMAS KEDABU RAPAT KABUPATEN KEPULAUAN MERANTI

Abstrak

Objective: To determine the effectiveness of aloe vera compresses in reducing body temperature among children with fever at UPT Puskesmas Kedabu Rapat, Kepulauan Meranti Regency.

Methods: This study employed a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest approach. The sample consisted of 28 children with fever. Body temperature was measured using a digital thermometer before and after the application of aloe vera compresses. Data normality was assessed using the Shapiro–Wilk test. Due to non-normally distributed data, differences in body temperature before and after the intervention were analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test.

Results: The results showed a significant decrease in body temperature after the application of aloe vera compresses (p < 0.05). The average body temperature after the intervention was lower compared to before the intervention.

Conclusion: Aloe vera compresses are effective in reducing body temperature in children with fever and can be used as a safe, simple, and cost-effective non-pharmacological intervention for fever management in children.
