PERSEPSI MAHASISWA PGSD TERHADAP DAMPAK TES TERHADAP PROSES DAN CAPAIAN PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA INGGRIS
Abstrak
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menggali persepsi mahasiswa PGSD
tentang dampak tes terhadap proses dan capaian pembelajaran bahasa Inggris.
Mahasiswa yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa PGSD yang
mendapat mata kuliah bahasa Inggris. Mereka menjadi sasaran khusus dalam
penelitian ini karena di masa yang akan datang, setiap guru kelas di SD diharuskan
bisa mengajarkan bahasa Inggris. Jenis tes yang dikaji dalam penelitian ini adalah
tes EnglishScore. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah
dengan mewawancarai empat mahasiswa PGSD yang dipilih berdasarkan
perkembangan kemampuan dan peningkatan skor pada tes EnglishScore yang
mereka ikuti. Hasil wawancara kemudian ditranskrip dan dianalisis dengan tiga
langkah, yaitu mereduksi data, menyajikan data, dan menarik kesimpulan. Hasil
dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa PGSD memiliki persepsi yang
positif terhadap keharusan menguasai bahasa Inggris bagi guru SD. Dalam hal ini,
tes EnglishScore menjadi alat yang potensial untuk mengembangkan kompetensi
mereka. Meskipun merasa gugup saat mengerjakan tes di beberapa kesempatan,
mereka menyatakan bahwa penggunaan tes EnglishScore sebagai instrumen
pembelajaran dapat meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa Inggris mereka, serta
meningkatkan proses pembelajaran bahasa Inggris.
