Abstract

This  study  aims  to  analyze  the  implementation  of  the  cooperative  learning  model  in  improving  collaboration  skills  and  student  engagement  at  SDN  Pondok  Benda  01.  Using  a  qualitative  approach  with  case  study  methodology,  the  research  provides  an  in-depth  description  of  the  learning  process,  supporting  factors,  and  challenges  during  the  model's  implementation.  Data  were  collected  through  participant  observation,  in-depth  interviews  with  teachers  and  students,  and  analysis  of  documents  such  as  lesson  plans  and  student  work.  The  findings  indicate  that  cooperative  learning  effectively  enhances  students'  collaboration  skills,  evidenced  by  increased  collaborative  interactions,  mutual  respect  for  differing  opinions,  and  shared  responsibility  within  groups.  Student  engagement  in  learning  also  improved,  with  more  students  actively  participating  in  discussions  and  completing  group  tasks.  However,  some  challenges  were  identified,  including  the  dominance  of  certain  students  and  the  need  for  more  intensive  teacher  guidance  to  ensure  equal  participation.  The  study  concludes  that  the  cooperative  learning  model  can  be  an  effective  strategy  for  developing  both  social  and  academic  skills  in  elementary  students,  provided  it  is  supported  by  proper  group  management  and  adequate  scaffolding.  These  findings  recommend  teacher  training  in  cooperative  techniques  and  the  development  of  teaching  materials  that  foster  collaboration.
