RESILIENSI ANAK PENDERITA THALASSEMIA DI ACEH
Abstrak
Thalassemia adalah penyakit kelainan darah yang degenerative, sulit untuk disembuhkan dan belum ditemukan obat yang tepat dalam penanganannya. Sehingga seumur hidup penderita thalassemia harus selalu melakukan transfusi darah dengan beberapa efek samping yang akan dialami. Dalam lingkungan sosial, anak penderita thalassemia akan mengalami perubahan hidup yang sangat signifikan, di mana mereka menjadi berbeda dengan anak-anak lainnya. Belum lagi jika mereka tinggal di lingkungan yang sama sekali tidak paham mengenai penyakit thallasemia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran mengenai tingkat resiliensi anak penderita thalassemia di Aceh dalam menjalankan kehidupannya sehari-hari. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologis. Metode pengambilan data menggunakan teknik wawancara dan observasi. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh yaitu setiap individu penderita thalassemia memiliki tingkat resiliensi yang berbeda. Perbedaan tersebut muncul disebabkan karena dukungan sosial baik orangtua, keluarga dan lingkungan yang berbeda. Diperlukan edukasi bagi masyarakat setempat mengenai thallasemia agar penderita dapat terbantu secara psikologis dan terhindar dari bullying.
